The Bullshit Continues

It seems like the script of a bad movie, you can't make this shit up.
The City of Medicine Hat’s latest action of removing election candidate links is indicative that there is something very wrong at City Hall. I have heard for years that City Hall is really run by puppet masters existing outside of City Hall. I have heard councillors spout ideas coming from these people, making it seem like it was their own idea.
This is one reason why I want to see a visitor list at City Hall - I want to see who our elected officials are speaking with.
I have direct evidence that I was targeted, this information comes from the Chief Electoral Officer, Andres Cardona Arias. Check out the e-mail that I received yesterday.

Mr Cardona Arias was hired last year for the election; his job will end Dec 31 2025.
I have no reason to believe that Mr Cardona Arias has anything against me, I believe this is because of the toxic culture at City Hall. This makes it difficult for us to hire the best. Who wants to work in a place filled with so much drama?
This toxic culture started long before the current administration and council - this has been going on for decades. It is coming to a head now because people are tired of the same old shit and they are fighting back. Meanwhile the Old Guard is doing its best to stay under the radar so they can retain power behind closed doors with their fingers in many pies.
Let me be very clear - I have name recognition which is huge in an election - people cannot vote for you if they do not know your name. Most of the new council candidates are new names, they do not have the same name recognition.
If I was a lousy human, I would cheer this development because it gives me an advantage.
If I was a lousy human, I would not care how I won as long as I won.
If I was a lousy human, I would bend my knee.
I Am Not A Lousy Human
The “Jurisdictional Scan”
Again, this is such bullshit.
The City says they did a jurisdictional scan to see whether other municipalities do the same thing - the City obviously cherry picked the results to make it go their way. I visited 12 sites to see if they publish candidate links. The Yes list is far longer than the No list. Out of 12 municipalities, 11 publish candidate links; some do it way better than we did. Check out the screenshots of some different municipalities.
Thanks to Nicole Frey who sent these links to me.
Yes
No
Removing the links makes it harder for
The new candidates to get their name out there
The voters who now have to search for each and every candidate.
As of Sept 4 at noon, we have
3 Mayoral Candidates
26 Council Candidates
5 Catholic School Board Candidates5 Public School Board Candidates
For a grand total of 39 candidates; the nomination deadline is still 18 days away.
This is not what a democracy is supposed to be like.
Removing candidate links offers a large advantage to those candidates with
Name recognition
Deep pockets to buy lots of signs to get that name recognition
Again, if I was a lousy human, I would be joyful about this.
I’m Not I'm Pissed!
This is my promise to the residents of Medicine Hat.
I will work hard to make sure that City Hall is run by the people who worked hard to get elected, not the puppet masters who exist outside City Hall. I've always been the person who sticks up for the underdog. I've learned to smell the bullshit, I've learned to ask people in authority the hard questions, to hold them accountable. I won't stop if I am elected to the horseshoe (I won't stop if I am not elected).
